If you want to work in the oilfield

Most people in this day and age believe truth itself is subjective. The field is definitely down, but if you flunk out don't blame the field, blame the greenhorn.

 

I’ll throw my 2 cents in.

I started with my first CDL job and first job in the oilfield June 12, 2013.

As a total greenhorn, and with a starting salary of only $16 an hour for the first three months, and $20 an hour there after, I still grossed $45,000 in my first six months (the last six months of 2013).

2014 it went up to $70, 000. From 2014-2018 I put myself on a schedule of 9 months working and 3 months off.

2015/16 were at $80k. each year.
2017 it dropped down to $53k.

2018 it dropped even lower to $45k. for the year. It’s because I had to take so much time off of work, I only actually worked 28 weeks that year.

2019 was my best year yet, I topped out at $93,000. I just took off one month from New Year’s Day till June 14. Then on July 11, I started with a three week on and three week off schedule to the end of December 2019.

I’ve done quite well having been continuously employed as a CDL-A driver in the TX., ND., MT., & AK. oilfields, mostly pulling tankers, since June 2013.

So don’t let anybody allow you to think the oilfield is full of ####!

After watching a bunch of doc's of Williston area it is a bonus you got to keep your job through the slow times!

 

You forgot Airgas field services they keep going when the fracking stops.

 

Oklahoma fields? 18 years old, f*** off with the naysayers.

 

Well, Schneider tried their hand at hauling crude and frac sand - and Stevens hauled water for quite awhile.

Another poster on this website (I don't remember who) said that MBI is the Swift of the oil patch.
