Saw a message board sign on the entrance ramp to the plaza yesterday saying something about cargo theft there ? ...I only got a quik look.

It says cargo theft has happened, be careful.
It's been up for a couple weeks that I know of, may have been up there for months though. Honestly, I am past at least one of those 5 days a week but since it would take an act of god to get me into one I rarely pay real close attention to them.
You seem to be around here a lot more then normal, considering relocating??
What I'd like to know is if it's someone out there cutting locks or was it some dufus that just closed the doors and hit the road, with nothing to keep anyone from getting in. -
Surprised at that. It always seems such a nice quiet area over there around western Chicago.

Never actually pulled into and stopped at any of those tollway service plazas that I can remember. Always strikes me as a bad idea and you chance of getting a parking spot at any of them during daylight hours? Forget it.
EuropeanTrucker and bzinger Thank this. -
Someone finally was smart enough to realize that all you had to do wait till any driver will jump from his truck , and hop into regular car to home and pretty much you have yourself abandoned unprotected truck... Interesting that took theft so long for to realize how easy it is to steal something from a plaza area... -
Crimes of opportunity all around us.
bzinger Thanks this. -

What’s scary about that south holland oasis is I’ve stopped there at 2-3pm and all the kids walking home from whatever school is next to the westbound side walk across the truck parking and through the building and across the eastbound truck lot to be able to get across the interstate. Hope nobody ever gets hit
bzinger Thanks this. -
I wonder if I should start locking my trailers with an actual lock now. Kinda hard to do that with the plastic seal already in the hole. I guess a thin lock could work.
Can bolt cutters break a stainless steel lock?
