So I was watching some videos on the You Tube from two different You Tube Channels Central Ohio Refuse who is from the Columbus,Ohio area and RWS676 who is from the Summit Stark County, Ohio area Massillion, Barberton and Norton area primarily.

Anyhow this first guy works a small time trash company in Central Ohio (Columbus Area) this guy is the fastest I've ever seen with the Curroto Can. The 8:00minute mark is where it really gets cooking. His technique is just amazing, you can tell he's had many many hours on the machine, that's the only way to be as good as he is. I really like the right hand drive truck he has with the door pulled back I think it lends it's self to good visibility and he can really do a good job.

The second guy works for The City of Akron, Ohio Service Department and is running one of their Automated Side Loader Kenworths. This guy is also really good, he's not quite as fast, but he's not slow and the action on the Labrie Automated Sideloader is smooth as glass and he sets the cans down perfectly. This is a normal left hand drive Kenworth 450 full cab, which is kind of a rare truck for a side-loader. It seems to me the trash companies like the flat noise Macks and the City Departments tend to like the more conventional trucks, not all the time mind you, but the cities tend to go with the more conventional trucks. But that kind of Kenworth full cab unit is not a common set up, but I think it's a sharp truck and the action on it is very smooth.

Some of the guys are real hurkey jerky especially The City of San Diego California but both of these guys are both real good.I like that Labrie unit the City of Akron has it's constantly packing he never has to stop to pack or dump the can really a great machine.

They came up in my You Tube recommendations. I live in a city that uses Republic for garbage and sometimes it’s hit or miss. Like this Monday they did a good job and other Monday’s I come home from work and there’s trash cans in the street and litter everywhere.

just wanted to see what else was out there. Most of the trucks Republic in my area uses are normal left hand drive.

If you watch the first video at 5minutes in the guy grabs a box with the auto arm then a can, drives forward while emptying the van sets the can down perfectly on the other side of the drive way didn’t miss a single beat all while smoking a cigarette

DSNY back in the 1970s used to run 3 man crews in the 1970s. There trucks were ewwwfff and guys used to jump in the back hopper, to jump up on the trash. Which isn't safe at all and I think back in those days the packer blade used to run on one cycle. Meaning you hit the lever and it went through the entire cycle. Now you pull down on the lever, the blade stops then you have to cycle it again to make it go through the full motion. The reason for that when the packer went one cycle in one motion people were getting killed and maimed by the packer blade.

Guys hanging off the back, most private refuse haulers in New York City still operate like that and it's one of the most dangerous job in the city. Laborers get killed and maimed. This way nobody is getting hurt.
