Was delayed by this one. Looks like that Chevy was completely on the shoulder at impact.

(WNDU) – One person has died after an SUV crashed into the back of a semitrailer that was disabled on the side of Interstate 94 in La Porte County Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened around 1:52 p.m. near Mile Marker 37 in the westbound lanes of I-94, according to a release from Indiana State Police. This is about 3 miles east of the Michigan City exit.

Police say a black Chevrolet Blazer ran into the back of a 1999 semitrailer that was disabled in the right shoulder.

It was not immediately clear why the Chevy left the road, but the crash is under investigation.

Agreed. I’m sure if four wheelers were required to carry at least 750K insurance it would’ve been different ;). Meanwhile, I hope this trucker had his triangles out...:(

If he didn't have the triangles out, he should have quickly put them out after the impact.

Bud A. and Upinsmoke Thank this.

I'm just glad it didn't happen while he was putting triangles out.

Shatter them before throwing them under a car too?:( I’m sure all drivers think about vultures in these situations...

That's a good idea. Keep a few broken ones in the side box, just for situations like that.

Last time I put triangles out two of them were shattered. Heck, my drivers side mirror was taken down while I was putting out triangles that foggy day also.

If they couldn't see the 8'6 x 13'6 trailer, how could you reasonably expect them to see three, 12" tall triangles?
