My DM actually fights for the drivers on his board...including making sure layover and detention time is entered, vacation and home time in the system and is honored...plus also filters out some of the messages going to upper management that might result in a termination.(he's got a cooler head than I do). He is also the only Wy-Moore employee in Ottawa and books loads for the company. He use to be the guy that handled most of the export red tape, but since Jan 1, that's all screwed up by....errr.... I mean that's all handled by Fargo.
I guess the thing that irritates me the most is Wylie comes in all high and mighty, fires people in mass groups because they were no longer needed or weren't doing their job. Brings in their own people to those same jobs, claiming they're gonna do things better...and within 3 or 4 months, it's the same circus, being run the same way only with different clowns running things. Only with more screwed up equipment, and a more screwed up computer system. (My DM has complained about the computer crashing several times a week since we started using this McLeod system...the same McLeod system that has been around for decades...so it isn't likely a software issue)

I found this
When You’re the Best At What You Do, You’re Wylie Tough.
In fact, its the first line on their website.
LOL.Lonesome Thanks this. -
The new guys are pretty much just following what they are told and go along with the stealth changes as if nothing has changed. I think that the biggest problem with hauling glass for them now is the guarantee pay. Just get rid of it and give me a load every time I'm empty so I don't have to play games. -

I'm sure that if the economy goes to #### you'll be 100% correct. Nobody will be buying the glass to build or make windows out of anymore. For me though, I've done pretty good on average until they started the minimum pay BS and whenever it's slow I may as well go home because they have too many drivers trying to get to a minimum of 1800ish miles every week just to cover the minimum pay.
Minimum pay without layover pay sucks because they'll just sit you for 2-3 days if you already have 1700 miles and some other drivers don't.Western flyer and Lonesome Thank this. -
Also you may know a lot more about other companies than I do because this is the only company I've driven for. Over the past 5 years it's gotten quite a bit worse though and they are bringing in yesmen driver managers who know that they'll be replaced if they don't go along with everything so it's really up to me when enough is enough. I'm not going to call and beg for a load. I'll just put in my notice and find something else.
What kept me from quitting when my old DM quit last year and my miles immediately went into the dumpster is that I don't know what other company is going to pay me 65cpm, guaranteed 1200 a week, allow my wife to be in the truck 24/7 365, and leaves me alone other than telling me to wash the truck once a month. I've spent more time sitting around than usual but hopefully the miles pick back up but if they don't by the end of March I'll be on the way down the road.
I had too many of those 1800-2000 dollar weeks to be satisfied sitting around 2-3 days a week getting paid the minimum.Last edited: Feb 16, 2020

Working for Wylie is like being a suspect in a crime, albeit a minor crime. By that I mean, we got 2 similar messages today about pretty much the same issue...trailer mess and/or damage. They want us to rat out the last driver if we find a dirty or damaged trailer. Now if the damage is fresh...quite probably it could have been done by the loaders. And it's hard to tell if damage is fresh from the last driver or the driver before etc. Since our yards are mudholes, and our trailers sit a while, who knows how old damage is. But, to paraphrase the msg, either you report it, or else the next driver might...and you'll be blamed...so...rat out the last guy first so someone doesn't rat you out. Kinda like the cops saying 'if you can name names, we'll let you slide'...as far as the cleanliness issue, uhhhh the last people to see this trailer before me wasn't the last driver...it was the loaders at the plant...did they report it. It's almost like they're finding things to nitpick about. Maybe some of the drivers are right, maybe they are trying to run off as many Moore drivers as they can so they can replace them with fresh 'Wylie trained' newbies...paid at a cheaper rate.
Lonesome, Itsbrokeagain and TokyoJoe Thank this. -
So the Wylie drivers are paid less than the bought out Moore drivers? I know that when maverick bought out FAST 5 years ago the drivers were paid like Maverick drivers and almost all of them soon quit or a few bought trucks and stayed on.
Maverick just had a similar message today actually. Our message was about people leaving a mess in shower rooms at our facility in Tx. It explained that if we report the mess as soon as we see it then the company can narrow down who did it by counting everybody who is there. (Usually there are 15+ trucks there) As if being somewhere makes you the guilty party. They'll find him!!! Haha
I can imagine being passed out there in the parking lot waiting for 2 days for a load and being hit with messages and phone calls about how I was now suspected of leaving the toilet seat up and a wet towel on a floor in a shower room without a curtain, rug or anything else to keep it dry. Hilarious!
The last one a few weeks ago was about how drivers are going to be in trouble for not putting the tarps in the (too small) tarp boxes as if strapping them down on the deck with the lumber is going to damage them from being in the weather. Because folding tarps in 0-30 degree weather is actually easy! And sometimes they force us to carry 2 extra lumber tarps for crazy loads or even lumber loads which totals 4 tarps which definite don't fit in tarp boxes.Lonesome Thanks this. -
TokyoJoe Thanks this.

Wylie doesn't get PC AT ALL???
Scratch one more off the list. That really makes no sense at all.
