I remember siting in a room in burley with two people asking questions on a video call. I don’t remember the exact questions but do remember they were all common sense and wanted to make sure you were going to ask for assistance if you were not sure about something. All the questions asked the same thing just worded 100 different ways.
I thought the FMCSA test was the hardest. I still can’t find the section on people riding in the trailer? And Never was not an option on the multiple guess quiz? I ended up leaving that one blank. They never showed me the test or told me what I missed. Just said I passed.

I agree with Saltyoldone about the interview questions. I read the DOT Foods website info on their interview style and how they wanted the answers stated. Circumstance, Action, Result. They had some examples on there that helped. I take all of my tests in Dyersberg tomorrow. I guess today I need to read the FMCSA green book. Anyone know where any good practice tests are online?

Its rare that a prospective employer would make any statements regarding your employability, especially in the negative.JOHNQPUBLIC Thanks this. -

That just proved to me I dodged a bullet, and DOT wasn’t worth my time. -
You guys really should see what DOT food does on docks. They might pay good but it ain't worth it. Taking two or three pallets and turning them into at least 30. I'd rather go work for Sysco or us foods and trust me those jobs kind of suck too

Your biggest misconception is that all DOT drivers touch freight. They don't. There are no touch delivery drivers, transfer drivers, and team drivers too. -
I am a customer delivery specialist/driver for mount sterling dot foods. We get paid quite well doing breakdown. 11 cent per case. 27 cent per line. We might have several cases and line items but we get paid alot more than most lumpers do. We also get 4 bonuses a year, service, quality and CSA bonuses. Plus several other things. Most delivery drivers make over 85k a year and up to 120k a year. Home weekends and sometime home through the week.
Crusader66 and ruckusftlc Thank this. -
There's no way you make over 85k a year. Top drivers at Sysco barely make over 90,000 a year. lumpers don't get paid that much cuz there's usually a lot of them. Versus a one-man job at DOT foods. Some jobs aren't worth the money. GregH65 You're right it's all how you view the job. I don't mind palletizing where they can actually just see it... But I don't like the Tie high stuff were you have to read a diagram
