Would pay to check the oil supply to the cooling jets, I have heard rumors of the glue in some oil filters separating and blocking cooling jets,
Thank you for all the replies, The water temp never got hot that I know of, the pyro was always settled in around 850 post turbo. I was also just told by the machine shop the truck has three cracks in the head. All six pistons look like this. If the injector overfueled would it burn the top of the piston? If all the oilers are plugged what else would be starving for oil or do they have there own passage? Thanks for the help , any other information that is needed I will do my best to answer....

another thing that it could be. a air deficit. cac leak, turbo boot leak, turbo or turbo's going out. which will let the cylinders heat up.
What do the top of the pistons look like? How long do you let the engine warm up after sitting all night before putting a full load on it? I've seen carnage like this on an engine that was put under full load stone cold everyday til it blew. The pistons expand quicker than the liners and you get equal scuffing in every hole.
