...got to the yard 1.5 weeks ago. Was routed to Texas for Truck repairs (needed body work from accident, non-prev, and needed APU fixed).

I get here and the bodywork is fixed within the first 2 days. Great. I'm cleared after about 4 days. Now I'm just waiting for my APU to get fixed. Keep in mind that I had taken it to a TK a few weeks before to no avail.

I get a knock on my door the next day; the mechanic needs to take the truck for repairs. Ok, fine.

I come back and find the truck parked after about 3 hours. I turn on the APU and after 2 hours, it shuts off again. Same alarm code. Same issues. I tell the shop.

2 days later I get another knock on the door. They need the truck for repairs. Ok fine. They take the truck and this time notice my Tachometer is a bit crooked. They commence to tearing apart my dashboard and though they fix the Tachometer, there is now damage from them taking the dash apart, loose parts, parts lying around that they didn't put back in, etc.

Oh...and the APU shuts off, again, after roughly 3 hours of running.

This happens 2 more times, until they have to bring in an outside person to fix it. It is now running smoothly now...

When I arrived on the yard, I had a physical recert due in August. The lady at qual said I could defer it. I said cool, gets me off of the yard faster. What she didn't mention at that time was that she can only defer it up to 30 days out. Meaning if I'm 30 or less till the due date, it cannot be deferred. Since the geniuses at the shop took 1.5 weeks to fix my APU, when I tried to clear and dispatch, the phy recheck came up. Guess what? You now HAVE to take your physical.

I am now sitting here awaiting a sleep study. I will be here until Monday.

Oh, and I just got a knock on my door from a guy saying that our Truck Manager gave my truck away since I've been on the yard for so long.

I've got just over 1 month until my 1 year is complete. I'm on the first thing smoking as far away from this place as possible.

The only problems that I had out of the shop were that some things never even got looked at.

I personally think that most of the problem with the shop is communication. I feel that there should be a macro where the driver can report an issue in detail via QC. This information gets saved and when the truck comes through the safety lane they can print out the maintenance requests.

And tires. I think that almost every time I came through the yard they replaced some tires. I made it a point to look at the tires and not once did I see where they needed to be changed, especially with used tires that were sometimes worse than what they took off!

Sounds about right. I had NO AC in my truck. Took it to the shop and they said they fixed it. Started truck and it worked, shut it off and it no longer worked. Took it to shop again waited all day, they say we fixed it.
Shut it off and restarted it still didnt work. Went to shop foreman he pops hood bangs on the blower and it works. I had to literally pop the hood everytime I turned off the truck and bang on the blower to get it to work.
Got kind of old after the 4 or 5th time.

Wouldnt it have been easier to just fix the problem rather than putting a "bandaid" on it.

I was.just assigned the truck I used in ORII... I was expecting it so it's ok, won't have it long with 478,000 miles on it, but it does have an issue with the AC... sometimes it works, sometimes not. I'll see this week if the shop can fix it. It quit last Friday in Arizona when it was 119°...

Sometimes its just better to fix it yourself and be done with it. Most of the time the little piddly stupid stuff its just easier. I just changed my blower motor today and it only took me 20 minutes ( only cause i broke the squirrel cage and had to walk back to the parts counter :angry7:)
