power inverter

    I just installed new cobra cpi1575 inverter. was told I needed atleast 150A fuse. will this breaker work or what do I need View attachment 66386

    Who told you 150amps was req? If you check with cobra I'm sure that fuse breaker is too much. It's meant to blow if you put too much current thru it. No chance that will ever blow at 150a so you have a potential fire hazard.

    If you bought the inverter new, it should have come with instructions and will tell you what size you need. If it came as a kit, I would think that the fuse would've come with it. You could also look up Cobra's website and see if it might tell you.

    yes it was bought brand new from TA. just looked up on cobra website and it says 150A is recomended

    While using a fuse is not mandatory, it is highly recommended. In the event of a short, a fuse will protect both the battery and the battery cables. The fuse should be installed as close to the battery as possible. Only use fuses designed for automotive use. Fuses and fuse holders can be obtained from internet retailers and possibly from local automotive stereo installers. Circuit breakers are available direct from Cobra as described below.
