    Each contractor pays different. Routes pay different amounts based on mileage. Do your homework.

    He doesn’t drive for Publix he drives for R&L. They occasionally hire an outside company to haul something for them. It’s no where near the same! No where near the benefits. And yes it is extremely hard to get hired there. The wait is long and CDL holders already don’t get special treatment. Unless it was a new distribution opening some where they needed drivers quickly.

    Yea, I know the in Lakeland they will train the guy scrubbing toilets before they take an outside CDL driver. Awesome job, very hard to get.

    Davis Express used to haul their longer hauls out of Jacksonville and Dacula.

    In fact, if they ever lost that Publix contract, they’d probably go belly up. And, it couldn’t happen to a more miserable outfit.
