If C.L. is back in charge, there may be hope for them yet.:)

I have only been with werner since January 1st of this year.. so 5 months 11. Days.... so I dont know how werner was when CL iwas in charge..

I was just up at the omaha terminal and was hanging in the qjite drivers lounge.. there was a driver who has been with werner for many many years.. he drove for 10, then took a break and did terminal stuff.. he did fleet assignments for awhile, did orientation pre trip class for awhile.. and other stuff then went back on the road.. come off the road for some medical stuff and did germi al stuff again then back to driving...

Anyway, he worked for werner back when CL was in charge and when CL would still run loads...

From what i gleemed from talkkng with him.. was that when CL left the sons in charge.. things went down hill and drivers were upset and many left..

However about a year or so ago.. things started to chaange again.. and for the better of drivers..

Yup the brothers were in charge when I was there is sucked and that's putting it lightly. Who knows maybe it's turned around one thing I will say. That Omaha terminal is sweet and huge

you're either misinformed or you dont know the difference between a Peterbilt and Kenworth, because Werner is not currently buying any new Peterbilts for the fleet.

They've got a whole pack of Kenworth T680's at the Springfield, OH terminal on the back row by the empties. Blue, White and Black.

The Dallas and Atlanta terminals are full of new Cascadias...and I still see Pete 487s. There is only one Kenworth on my account, and they aren't too common. The Atlanta Terminal is overwelmingky Cascadias and Internationals, with a few Pete's, and even fewer Kenworths.

I'm not trying to be argumentative, but people really need to stop making claims that can be disproven with nearly no effort.

Currently broke down, recall on my truck, had a night dispatcher tell me to send a 24, which would have done nothing to get the load there on time. Set up a swap and the million miler who met me intentionally made the load late after both myself and dispatch figured out the only way to make the load on time. Moral of the story? People need to be more practical...ask themselves "does it work?"...

Good thing my day dispatcher is killer. But to be fair, the night guys each oversee multiple accounts...same way it was at Crete. The best night dispatchers I had were on the Texas Cross border...but the account is really a pain because the border is lined with really tight little shippers who are disorganized, and loads never get across the border in reasonable time. They need a good dispatcher to deal with that garbage. Werner looks pretty organized compared to any company working the border...it can be real caos. I got good miles...but the disorder at the border always drove me nuts.

That was one of the few accounts I've been on. When people say they are on an account they don't like...I don't really know what to make of it. Many times I've talked to placement for drivers and they've refused to go dedicated, then blamed Werner...Hokay...whatever.

The only ones I can't really blame people for turning down are dollar general and family dollar. Those are for guys who want to stay in shape. But when people turn down home depot, Perdue, 3M, Or some of the beer runs...that always kind of surprises me. Then they quit and I'm thinking "what the hell just happened?"

Number one tip to dealing with Werner is to get to know how placement works, especially if you arecwilling to move. I left Florida because of the unemployment...best thing I ever did. Lotta good accounts in nice areas like Macon, Birmingham, Atlanta, Knoxville, Madison, Nashville...there is plenty of opportunity if someone is willing to take it.

i was just at dallas a month ago and I saw no "new trucks" whatsoever there. i havent been to Atlantas terminal. Fontana had no new trucks. Denver has no new trucks. havent been to Phoenix or Allentown.

But ive talked to my trainer and he said Werner wasnt buying Peterbilts currently. Ive heard the same thing from other Werner employees.

and lets see where is your proof? So far all ive seen is your hearsay and opinion. Nothing to corroborate what you have said. I posted up photo evidence to backup my claim of the Kenworth T680's to corroborate what I have said.

For teams - we received a 2011 Peterbilt 387 (375k miles +) from the Lakeland terminal. After 3 months, it was shot and we got a 2009 International Prostar (440k miles +) from the Indianapolis terminal. That lasted about 2 weeks. I hope we get a NEW truck soon.

    pic is broken.

was just there two weeks ago and they only had used ones that were cleaned up all nice but not one of them had new stickers and they all had a few hundred thousand on the odometer.

they are on a Kenworth and Freightliner buying spree.

Peterbilt made Werner really mad with all the regen issues keeping trucks in the shop way too often as well as poor repair ratios and just overall poor service. I talked to one of the purchasing execs a few weeks ago in Omaha. Volvos and Internationals are being phased out as they get up there in mileage.
