This is a senseless post . With thousands of desperate , jobless CDL holders out there there is no question naming a good company will result in a flood of applications being sent to it . They aren't competition .They are a nuisance . . Who said the company didn't limit the number of hirees ?
why

i've posted my company and my pay sheets(which are pretty healthy), yet i don't see a flood of applications. We happen to be hiring, but i don't see anyone not yet hired as "competition."
Again, i rationalize that thousands of drivers are not going to drop what they're doing (even if what they're doing is not working) and send an app to a company thousands of miles away. And just uproot their family etc.
Even if they did, the company must first provide the applications; If the company is not hiring, then no applications get sent in the first place. If the company is hiring and you look at the new drivers as competition, then you may be barking up the wrong tree.
Again, mentioning that a company is good, but not mentioning the company name is really incorrect thinking.
Spill it. -
I know some might think that I am anti company but you have to work for someone and the market forces change. Truckers just need to stop playing the blame and admit that things are going to be bad for awhile. -
First of all I'm not shifty for nut tin you know. 2nd you seem bitter as far as wanting me to divulge a good deal.
3rd I'm one of those who tries to have the attitude that not all large tricking firms are the same. Most of them are but I'm sure not all.
Therefore you're going to have to find your good deal on your own.
A good tricking company to work for us a lot like a real good woman who has many good attributes. A smart man will not divulge all those good attributes. -

Then why even bring it up in the first place?
Not a good way to post in my opinion.
The purpose of a web forum is to exchange information; It does no one any good including the original poster to mention that they work for a good company, yet not mention the company. -
same reason that wal mart thrives - they pay their employees peanuts, violate every labor law on the books - BUT they sell cheap crap - and that's exactly what their customers want.
the customers of the monster mega trucking companies want cheap freight rates, so they get a cheap trucking company to haul their crap. the companies make a profit by hauling the freight cheap, and paying their never ending supply of trucking school grads 20 CPM. -
I've read through all the posts in this thread and many like it and have come to a few conclusions. This is nothing directed at the poster I quoted it's just directed at these questions in general.
I've stated in a few different places what I make and provide a picture of the company I drive for that is pretty clear. I would make a conservative guess that I'm in the top 20% of W2's at the end of the year among drivers yet we have huge turnover among new hires that will bash the company once they quit because they don't hire into the position I've earned here. Out of every 1000 jobs that pay what mine does, maybe 2 get hired in making that money on a regular run without paying any dues to get there.
It's out there.. The jobs that pay 80K plus are out there and known but they do not advertise and you do not hire on at 80K when you start there. Even Wal-Mart which may be the best job on the road has its lean years at the beginning. Most of these jobs are seniority based, but even if they're not, you won't get hired into the best position off the street.
I'm not worried about my company getting flooded with applications because I know drivers will see who I work for and say "I don't wanna work there". Even if they did get flooded, it would be a good thing because we might be able to find some good experienced help that appreciates a good driving job which takes some time instead of the guys that quit after a week because they can't have my run. -
It is the same with truckers, most have never stayed at a company long enough to make anything out of it. Do a few things right and a company will trust you with more. You might be a route driver, LTL or even something like hauling mail for a postal contractor. If you are on time and do everything right you will stick out like a sore thumb. Show yourself to be more trustworthy and you will advance, if you are not willing to do that then you might as well take your place among the mediocrity of transportation who want to be rewarded for their vast talent without earning it.
Like my job. Everyone there thinks that I make all the money in the world and they all want my job. And I have trained a few to do it and no one sticks with it because you have to be willing to be on call 24-7. It is just too much responsibility for a driver who wants to stay out drinking beer with his buddies 'til 2 am. Especially when they get the call at midnight and they are still drinking. So everyone wants my job until they get it, and then they quit and start the process of hating the drivers who have the better job at their new company.JustSonny, jakebrake12 and doubledragon5 Thank this. -
You say "spill it".
