Alberta oilfield driving jobs

that is why i fly in work for 6 weeks then fly home for 2 weeks and repeat good money to be made in alberta better to live in ontario

thats why i am leavin newfoundland tomorrow mornin and driving out west and gettin a place to stay. been at camp jobs and hotel living jobs but the work like i am gonna get with prairie boy its gonna be tons better in my opinion. thanks again prairie boy.

 

I was in Fort Mac in 1964 to 1967 when a bunch of Newfies came out and took a welding course and went to work. Hell, some of them have grandkids working at Suncor today. They never did go back except for a visit or two.

anyway got my DZ (ontario)/class 3A (alberta) recently. would be leaving for alberta end of june. i am sure the spring break should be over by then. i would appreciate any insights to companies who are currently recruiting. i am more interested in fluid hauling, drilling rigs/service rigs etc. i would be based out of edmonton, and wouldnt mind working as far as fort mac, GP, Red Deer or Lloydsmin.
once again any referral or recommendations would be appreciated.

To the new posters, I really like red deer, its right in the middle of calgary / edmonton so its a great staging area, there are many well services companies here such as trican, sanjel, nabors, sandfrac, calfrac, haliburton, canyon technical services and numerous others. They're all looking for people right now, but don't bother sending resumes to them as they won't be read or acknowledged for months. You have to be here, ready to work, standing in their office.

Red Deer is relatively cheap to live, blackfalds, innisfail, ponoka, joffre and many other little towns are very close and should provide housing, if you want to try your hand with Sanjel Frac PM me your res and I'll get it to where it needs to be, Keep in mind its not just driving, its 30% driving, 30% paperwork, 30% vehicle maintenance and 10% coffee breaks. Even though thats 100% add another 50% of your day rigging in/out/standing around.


Also an easy search on red deer kijiji brings up almost 100 positions which may be suitable.

Basically you just have to get here, once you're here have a clean drivers abstract, your license and a place to live and you'll get hired. All the companies are ramping up as road bans come off in June.

No problem at all. I've been answering PM's for the last hour - Pretty much I was in their shoes just back in November / December when I graduated the drivers course and came here looking for work. I came at a tough time in the middle of winter and after sending in tons of resumes didn't hear anything. So I came out here, drove around, put thousands of km on my truck ready to go - I totally understand where these guys are coming from - the people out here, when working are making more in a day than you can in a week out east, the same is true for out west. Where I'm from in the interior used to be booming, but its too expensive to live and the jobs are far between - for example theres almost 100 jobs just for red deer in that link i posted, in kamloops today there are 9 and they want a minimum of 2 years.

I'm just trying to help people, theres enough to go around.
