I have a basic uniden pc68ltx radio. Am running 2 antennas on pete 386 . Lost one antenna the other day when ice got stuck to it and started whipping it around and eventually snapped off. Figured i would replace the other antenna as well since it looking rough.im looking for 2 antennas that wont break the bank but still give me good range. U guys have any recommendations?

Francis is a good cheap antenna.
Francis - Fiberglass CB Radio Antennas

Most truck stops sell them but don't buy the 3' ones. Look for a 4' one. The longer the better, not many truck stops sell the 5' one.

I would stay away from Wilson fiberglass antennas, the wire tends to break near the base.

I've had good luck with the fire sticks with the adjustable tip but skipshooter seem to be popular on this forum as well

Skip shooters...Go as long as you can while staying an inch or so around 13'6"....Use a cloth with wd 40 and wipe down ant and that helps with snow and ice sticking to them..

Had good results and when i called them one time i got awsome service to..Dont know what shops physically sell them but their site has some listings and if you dont see any, order them..
Depending on your trucks mount point just subtract that from 13'6" and you will know how long to buy..

You must be thinking of something else. Francis antennas don't have enough mass to start wobbling around... Seriously, try to shake it like a stick and see what happens?

Skipshooters are good. But, what truck stop sells them when you need a replacement right now?

    D.Tibbitt Thanks this.
