I guess karma is a funny thing. Here I complain about the Banning scale and when I get there last night and saw the big line my blood was already boiling. Just before I got to the exit they closed the scale and I got to bypass it, but Castaic made up for it this morning and gave me a Level 1 inspection. I have to say the guy was nice and quick. He looked the truck and trailer over and did not seem to make it his mission to find something wrong.
All was well and off I went about 45min later. With my new yellow stickers:biggrin_25514:.

That was my first Level 1 in California and I have nothing to complain about. Well, lets think about that since I am still a truck driver :biggrin_2559:

Up until around 3 years ago I was going out to California with a '93 International 9670 and was inspected several times with no problems to speak of. I remember once going north on I-15, not sure the name of the place just north of L.A. about half way up the mountain, the inspector told me everything looked ok to him and started filing out the report. I asked him if I could ask a question about something. He said yes and I pointed to the lights across the top of the cab... ya know the ones that are called "clearance lights" but can't be used to check clearance? I asked him what they were there for. He said, and I quote: "#### if I know. All I can tell ya is if they don't work I gotta write ya up." I think California D.O.T. get a little too much grief. Ya gotta remember, they have to live in the #### place. We just have to visit now and then. HEHEHE

    Yep.
Thats the hill that the Cummins brothers came up with the idea for the Jake Brake. They were told to start off slowly at the top of Ka Hone pass. When they got to the top of Kay Jone summit they weren't worried about a thing. At the bottom of Cajon they were thinking about a way to use the engine to slow the truck down.

California will take care of their own. What I mean is they'll mess with California drivers before anyone else. All the Csa violations and the only ticket I've ever gotten has been in my home state of CA.

    Its a love hate relationship.
