    If no one died, I dont see what good the smoke detector does. It appears these units combusted when no one was there.

    Ironically, there’s been one chirping in my neighborhood so loud I thought it was one of mine. Changed all the batteries on all the detectors in my house. Nope, still chirping.

    The pain is, the chirp is intermittent, so I’m standing staring at the smoke detector to see if it chirps. Then I leave the room and hear it anyway.

    Turns out it was a neighbor’s.
