Cost of shipping a D8 dozer?

Every time I have rented heavy equipment the delivery was either free or already figured into the rental price. Once I got a discount cause I went and picked up the equipment with my bosses truck and trailer.

 

Best bet is to contact a local grading company and ask them? They probably already have oversized permits and stuff?

 

If you have to pay separately for the haul, don't be surprised to see $10/mile, plus all the permit fees.

 

Yeah... The most recent rental was a large excavator that broke down while I was using due to no fault of my own, and they brought out another and took the first away. All on thier dime.

I should probably note though that I was always much closer than your 100 miles. And the company I rent from has their own trucks and trailers for delivery.

 

If its just for a day likely better off paying contractor for delivery and include operator. I needed a big ho for a hour and "friendly contractor" stopped came by, did the work and few others locally the same day. It was only $300 I recall. He likely spent as much time unloading and loading the ho as he did digging my site.

 

I would think that the added in delivery fee is going to come out to way more than $10 a mile...

I hauled a legal steel load yesterday that went 110 miles and came to $8.17 a mile after my carriers cut...

From what I see online a D8 is around #80000
