Does Walmart have wifi for drivers at distribution centers?

Im really suprised Joy Behar can spare the time to come join us for some big people conversation.

 

Exactly why I don't care for a lot of Walmart drivers!! Have you ever stopped and take the time to talk to some of those rough looking drivers? Most of them are just good decent hard working drivers that are just trying to make a buck. Sure, most aren't as fortunate to be making the big bucks like a Walmart driver might be. But who knows, maybe they have dreams, too. But then a Walmart driver with a huge ego comes along and squashes their dream because of comments you make about them in an open public forum like this. Or, who knows, maybe they think to straighten them selves out and get cleaned up and act a little more professional than some do. Who know.

One thing I've learned over the years. Never pass judgment on anybody you don't know and don't know anything about. You have no idea what their lives really are like till you take the time to talk to them. Heck, I've looked pretty rough myself on some long cross country trips. I'm sure towards my 4-5 day on the road some people have thought negative on me because I've gone 4-5 days unshaven. But little do they know, I make just as much as a Walmart driver, my company pays for ALL expenses while I'm on the road (including hotels, which I don't normally get because I find them to be a pain in the rear to get in and out of with the big rig. Plus I sleep better in the rig anyway), I'm a certified FAA pilot, I own an airplane, I own a nice home, and I do have a truck stop shower phobia!! (My last disgusting truck stop shower 10 years ago was the last straw!! I'd rather go 4-5 days without a shower than to use some of these so-called clean showers in most of these truck stops). Who knows. Maybe there's hundreds of other drivers out there that are pretty much just like me.

I think your being just as unprofessional by putting down this poor girl that's trying to make a living and providing for her family and worse yet, calling her a "Troll"! Is that the way a so-called professional Walmart driver is expect to act?? After all, most of you Walmart drivers think your in a whole another league!!

So before the next time you have something to say about some of the drivers sitting in the drivers room at the truck stop, why don't you stop and take a moment to talk to them and find out what's going on in their lives and why they look the way some of them look. Maybe some of them are on their 4-5 day of being on the road and have the same truck stop shower phobia I have and they are just taking a breather for a few, or waiting for a shower to open up. Or waiting for their laundry to finish so they can wear some clean clothes. Or who knows. Maybe they are bummed because no matter how hard they been trying, they just can't seem to get them good paying loads like some other drivers seem to get. or maybe some of them have been down on their luck with high maintenance/repair costs on the rig and busting the tail end to get from point A to point B with no time to spare for a shower and clean clothes. Anyway, there's so many variables to take into account.

But in the end, I will agree that there are some drivers out here that just plain and simple do look and act unprofessional. But, that's been that way since trucking has been born and always will be that way.

Sorry man!! I didn't mean to be one of the ones to go way out to left field. Just somebody struck another nerve with me today and I just couldn't hold back. Glad you got a smart phone. I sure do enjoy mine.

 

Just because you think you are a good person, you cannot be aware of all of the different people that the trucking industry has to deal with at the Walmart facilites.

I could be a person and make judgmental comments about you like you do toward the trucking industry.

Without trucks, Walmart would cease.

When I first found this thread my only intention was to try and help perspective Walmart drivers. My observations are just that and as far as passing judgement,dude I have far better things to do. Its a fact that better than two thirds of this industry exhibit the traits I listed,if you dont like to hear it then find a touch feely "emotional" thread.

As far as the "poor girl" well brother she is a the perfect example of how this industry has changed for the worst,not her personally but her demographic. I have alwys been very careful not to broad brush when posting on these sites but that does not mean I wont voice my opinion. The road is no place for a mom,notice I said mom not woman,to be even more clear a mom with younger children. Not knowing her situation I really could not pass judgement on her even if I wanted to.

Children need thier moms on a daily basis,I feel bad for her that she has to be away. There are plenty of hard working women out here and they have my respect,so please lets not go there. I have worked the equivalent of two full time jobs for the last twenty years so my wife could be home with our kids. To avoid further hurting any feelings I wont go on but if you have been in this business for 26 years there is no way you can deny the facts. Companies are looking for anyone with a pulse and an IQ equal to a fence post to fill seats.

The poor girl should not launch off the porch and hurl BS at a senior driver until she has a little time in,that just basic FNG protocol.

 

Really,you think you could pass judgement on me well have at it driver,lets see what you can come up with. Let me help you out. Twenty two years of solid experience in this industry,seventen with my last employer. Over two million miles with no tickets and only two very minor equipment damage incidents. Currently I have well over one million accident and citation free miles.

When I first started out I knew where the money was in trucking and I set my goals towards that segment of the industry. Seventeen years as a grocery teamster made for a very nice life for me and my family,toys a nice house in the country and fun family vacations were my rewards for always working hard and never,never whining about how others were doing better.

Am I much different than the other drivers out there,well hell yes I am. The two thousand other drivers I beat out to get this job should be the poof of that. I am the best of the best and if and when you get here you will have also earned the right to say so. If some of you are bothered by my ego and my hard earned success bothers you,sack up work a little harder and come join me at the top.

Outside of the trucking industry I put in 12 years as a volunteer firefighter/emt,another job that I did very well at. I also spent six years working as an EMT in the ER of an inner city level one trauma center,this was another job where being the best of the best helped me to beat out 200+ other applicants. This was all done while I was working my 70 every week at my teamster job. Been maried to the same girl for twenty years and have four great kids,my son is on his way to the middle east and I am very proud of him as well as the other three.

Did not really want to lay out my mini resume but I thought it might help you to make some "judgemental comments" if you choose to try. Looks to me like I offer the perfect balance of job success ,rock solid backround and family values that a company like Walmart looks for in thier drivers. Once again the best of the best,hands down no BS,like it or not. Why not put in your appliction and come join us.

Your posts hinge on the issues of degrading the trucks that come to your centers.

Your post here could be nothing more than a smoke screen. There is nothing in proof.
