Don't drive around yards with your 4way flashers active

Four way flashers are for alerting of various situations like; backing up, being stopped temporarily where people need to go around you, being stopped on the side of the road, emergency stops on the roadway, going slow on the roadway, etc. They are for showing situations other than normal driving or forward travel.

When you use your four ways for regular driving in yards, you lose the ability to notify those around you of such events noted above. I've actually been to one yard that had a sign that everyone should have four ways on at all times. Nobody knew what anybodies intentions for due to the loss of meaningful use of four ways. It was turmoil. Thankfully I've only been to one place like that.

Don't be that guy driving through a yard with your four ways on.

4 ways are the stupidest thing ever invented. I don't even pay attention to them anymore because of all the idiots that misuse them.

You don't need 4ways for that, just an ###-hat.

Don't ever go to a Port or Railroad then, most of them require you to use your 4-ways at all times, although they are slowly getting away from it, failure to do so can result in a lifetime ban for the first offense

Walmart, Kroger, and a whole host of other places require them. Now if you're creeping at 5 mph in those yards, why wouldn't you use them? To me, it's not a bad thing, as people respond to flashing lights

Well, I guess I'll have to adjust my attitude if I ever want to make my secret desire to run intermodal come true. :)

You don't have to have a secret desire, don't ever run flatbed and get asked to haul a can, very common.

I use my warning lights wherever I can. Even when not required. But that’s just me.

I just run reefer, but there are times I would like to have that setup! After 7 or 8 hours of waiting, it could serve as something to let them know I'm still alive. Maybe a PA to with it. I could be obnoxious enough they would try to get me out asap.
