just started with driving hotshot for a local transport. i drive their pickup/trailer and was given a cc for fuel and hotels. i was told i get 25% of the load. in my first week, i did 4 runs, 3 over 400 miles the other was about 150. each run they wanted me to run back empty because they said there were no back loads. when i got payed for that week it was lower than i figured, they said they take fuel costs off the top, then give me my 25%
half my driving was empty but i still had to pay my share of the fuel. this dont sound right. thier trucks get crappy mpg. i talked to couple hotshots on the road and they said thier company pays the fuel. its their truck.

If you are an employee, you should not be paying for their fuel.

Those are their costs associated with doing business.

It depends on the split should be who ever is getting the higher part pays for fuel which obviously isnt you.... Shouldnt be taking anything less than 35 percent of the load anyway imo

When I ran for % it was 25% of Gross. There screwing the drivers. If there paying 25% at net. And half my miles were deadhead.

You're getting ripped off. Did you sign anything saying your pay was 25% of the net?

What's gonna happen when theres a break down? Is the cost of the repair going to come out of your end as well?

You need to find someone else to work for.
