Gaming for truckers

I would love having a desktop in the truck. But I don't know if got enough power for it and also what happens to it when I'm driving. I use some gaming laptop when I'm in the truck

 

My high end rig is going to draw about 2.5x what my mid-range laptop does at full power. Still less than half as much as a regular microwave.

 

Mine only draws between 260 to 280 watts when gaming. But you still can't really use one of the inverters that plug into the cigarette lighter. The amps is to high. When I am driving; the computer will be put away in it's own pelican case.

 

truck I'm in has a apu. No idea on the inverter. Runs my microwave fine

 

I was expecting the old style Intel chunk of metal with find cooler design. Looked at my wraith. My question now is what the structural capacity of heat pipes.

 

My truck has both even though the APU has a generator on it with 2 standard 120v plugs. So, I run my microwave from the APU and everything else from the 1100watt inverter.

I've finally finished it. I built my new truck desktop and installed Arch linux. Not perfect, but it's working. Those SFX power supplies are surprisingly cute.

I'm looking at a Ryzen 5 3600 for with 470x MB for my upgrade. I bought a 1660 Super for my old rig , my old I5 4690 and 16 gb of Ram is holding up but even with the new card she runs at between 80 &90% on all 4 cores . On MW Cod the new one its 100% on load screen but comes back down . The 1660 Super was a sweet little upgrade.
