    Hello everyone,

My name is Corey, I'm from Simi Valley, CA and my fiance and I just enrolled into Dootson School of Trucking. We plan on driving teams. I have been reading alot of articles on this forum regarding trucking companies. Lot's of great and useful information. With my research, I have narrowed down which companies we would like to work for and would like to get any feedback or thoughts?

    Interstate Distributor
    Schneider
    U.S. Express

    Thanks for any feedback!

Nice to see Werner and CR England NOT on your list.

You're headed in the right direction.

I know a new ( just hit one year) team with US Express that has done well with them.

yeah I have heard nothing but horror stories about CR England and Werner. I was also checking into TMC and USA Truck. I have spent alot of hours till 3AM on some nights researching companies.

    Welcome Lakerized805 !

I graduated from Dootson last month. FYI, Schneider requires a minimum of 160 hours of school training to be hired on.

I don't know about teams but Crete I heard is pretty good for to their new drivers. Also I think Prime is pretty good but I heard more mixed on them.

    US Express
    Watkins-Shepard

    Both good companies for teams.

US Xpress is very good for teams. It's the sort of company you may very well end up sticking with.

We drive at US Xpress and are doing well. Make sure to get your HazMat. Rare to haul but you get paid an extra 4 cpm for having that endorsement. It opens up dedicated accounts....that's where the consistent $$$$ money is.

    lakerized805 Thanks this.

Thank you all for all of your feedback. I've really been looking into US Express now over Schneider. We do plan on getting our hazmat endorsement. What is the home time like with US Express for OTR? Looks like they have real nice equipment also with the latest technology.

I am scheduled to take my permit test at DMV on Tuesday, been studying the crap out of the book. Think I will be fine, I just hate tests in general!

Giocript - Crete looks amazing, however, will only take students with their approved schools or 4 months experience. I'm going to Dootson School of Trucking and is not on their list. =-(
