I'm out here in OKC at a hotel for the weekend. The dude was parked at the hotel next door, comes over and takes one of my two tarps off my truck, and takes off. I guess his fat ### was too winded to steal the other one before he left.
I actually thought it was the semi that was parked next to me, but after seeing the video it was another hotshot guy that was parked at the hotel next door. imagine being so broke in this market that you have to steal other people's ####..

Since it's on video, contact his company.

some companies resort to having the company name printed on the tarps. one company (or o/o) if i recall, has bright pink tarps, with thier name on it..kinda hard to hide that bright pink. give that some thought, having your company name printed on yours....

i would say that to be true of some 18 wheeler drivers as well.. stealing a battery, trailer and maybe tractor tail lights, side marker lights, spare tire, air lines, fuel, ranks right up there for them. as well as LOT's of hit and run's......

it is all a crime of opportunity.

The hotel had a video camera but it was more for just watching the side of the building. Where my truck was parked it barely showed up in the vid. However, you could see him come from the property next door carry it off then his trailer which you could barely see pulled off. Couldn't get any ID's from the truck and the other hotel couldn't or wouldn't tell me who he was.

The truck was behind a wall that separated the 2 properties but the wall ended so you could see the trailer. Couldn't id the truck nor get license plates.

However, it was a 40ft flatbed no dovetail and the guy have 4x4 dunnage tied to the deck with wire. So if anyone knows a guy who uses wire to tie his dunnage to his deck. It was like he had holes drilled through the 4x4's and tied them to the deck as if he hauls the same stuff all the time or something.

Actually, when I was still driving semi's I had a hotshot guy steal all the fuel from my reefer tank on my 10hr break. Pissed me off big time, I had just filled the tank before I parked. then got woke up at 5 in the morning to warnings that my reefer was out of fuel.. You could see where he dripped fuel on the ground right where his truck was parked.
