Hi, my state is Maryland and I'm owner operator ( have my own dot and mc number ) my cab card expire at end of this month. I just to realise 2 weeks ago that irp office ( mva ) do not accept walk in like they use to , only with appointment but no one can reach the phone number they have. No answer or if they answer put you on hold for hours and again no answer. I called 100 times. They say that getting appointment only by email. I sent 10 of them. still no return. ( it says return in 48 hours )
What should I do ?
How am I gonna work ?
I know I can drive in Maryland but I'll go 48 states.

You may need to find one of the co. that are around the address of the irp office that handle the 1st time buyers of irp tags and pay them to get your new tag for you, if you have the paper work filled out they may not charge that much, or just snail mail it with ck. and wait??
singlescrewshaker Thanks this. -
I went through this in August in FL. I didn't cut is as close as you with 2 weeks, but sent mine in online 30days prior to my tag/cab card expiring. The walk in office I normally use was closed also.. It took them 5 weeks to process the renewal, then to add insult to injury the post office delivered it to the wrong address. My tag sat there for another ~9 days till the dude realized it wasn't his mail, & brought it by my house..
I'd make a copy of the renewal papers, email one directly to the Maryland state IRP office, & keep ringing the number of the office near you. If you get an appointment 1st, do that one. Then just ask to withdraw the renewal from the online one, as you've already got it taken care of..
Good luck.. -
WOW, even New Jersey has extended them....

I have received a response from my email either. I'm going to print off a paper IRP and send it in with a return receipt and that's what I'm going to show the DOTbaha Thanks this.
