Did you put off having a colonoscopy? Asking for a friend.

Had colon cancer back in 2000, took out 16 inches, had 26 chemo treatments. I am fine today, seldom even think about it. You will be fine, just listen to Doc's advice,

I'm recovering now from resection surgery because of diverticulitis. No bag needed, just a zipper in my belly. Staples get removed Monday.
    Light duty 4-6 weeks.
I was fortunate. I just got home from a 3000 mile trip the day before my infection flared and I went to ER.

Truck safely in the driveway. My backside in my couch. I was lucky.

OP good to hear your doing OK.

I was in the hospital for four days with the infection but recovered ok.
Had the resection scheduled for March of last year and all non emergency surgery got cancelled , and the hospital is the last place I wanted to be with covid just getting started. I have asthma , if I get covid im a goner .

did y’all have the surgery after just one episode of diverticulitis?

or did you have several before deciding to get the surgery?

Watching tv. Belly felt bloated, I thought gas, then discomfort increased. Laid down in bed. I felt no better.
Maybe 1 hour passed. Had wife drive my to hospital.
Intake interview, before any tests, doctor said I wasn't going home. Surgery 3 hours later when operating team was assembled on a Sunday night.

This was the only symptom I had, other than the 3 previous days I was tired even after sleeping 8 hours.
