I talked to McE. once, they were kinda rude and short when asking tougher questions, hardly spoke english...must be a call center in mexico (j/k). I dont know what else I didnt like, but i think it was their pay and milemaker. They did not sound like straight shooters to me, talked to them at least twice, 1 was in person by a recruiter. They get you home on Sats, but sunday is a different story. Something about the owner's religion....

I talked to the personel dept. a few time and really liked everything said, very nice and curtious. I start orientation with them on Monday 01/29/2007. Everyone I have talked with said alot of good things about McElroy and that they provide some of the best training in the industry.

csj and justachic977 - just talked to my buddy driving for McElroy. He has completed his training and got his tractor Thurs. Last week of training was at terminal in Alabama. Final driving test, following directions, etc. He sounds pleased with the company. As far as benefits goes, he said the insurance kicks in at 90 days and they have several plans to choose from. He wasn't sure if his was a 80/20 split or 90/10. Most of the info can probably be found on their website or at least you can get a phone number. Hope this helps a little.

I just got my license. I was leaning toward TMC, but it seems they lie. I have an ongoing interest in McElroy. I would appreciate hearing as much as possible from people who know about them.

Thanks, Notarps. I will try to contact Overhead. I passed my road test for CDL in VA Tuesday, just went to DMV and got license this AM. I look forward to getting to work for a good company.
