That whole plastic piece, around the radio, pops off pretty easy. You might be able to fit a wider radio in their, once you pop that plastic off. Then put it back on. It would put the radio back a little deeper in the hole.

What keeps the radio from sliding out of there?

A Velcro strap goes around the radio, inside the cubby.

    MACK E-6 Thanks this.

The black plastic piece that is behind the main plastic comes off, I have one on mine you just remove that plastic piece then it makes the hole wider and you can put the Gray one over it. I have a 29 in mine fits nice once thats out of the way.

You do have to remove 3 fasteners that are holding it in place once you get the gray one off. These come off with needle nose or a flat head.

Which 29 do you have fajo? I knew that the plastic came off the front. Had to pull it off to get a good grip on the mic cord to change it out. Lol.
