Ahhhh I see what you doing man.....you want to quarrel. Sorry man. I'm not the confrontational type. I'll converse with anybody all day, regardless of whether we are alike or different philosophically. The minute you wanna fight, that's when I find a more constructive use of my time.

That's the most inaccurate statement I've read on this site, in like forever.

What I did is highlight how silly it is to propose or support policy on how it is you feel or think about such policy versus statistical fact. So here’s some constructive use of your time, aka homework:

Statistically prove to me that limiting truck speed via ECM instead of posted speed signs will reduce both the number and severity of accidents across the nations highways. Be sure to highlight your points of contention, provide detailed analysis of case studies and provide supporting citations. Preferably in a format as found in this link:

You certainly fly off the handle for someone who claims to not be confrontational.

 

but you arent going to average 60 mph by driving 60 mph. you need to be at 68 mph or even 70 to get there. to get 65mph you are going to have to be closer to 75mph to average that.. and thats saying that you can average that same speed every single day over the course of x amount of weeks and months... which is close to impossible because of situations out of your control like traffic, weather, etc

 

I drove almost 3 years for reefer company that was governed at 65 mph. I now drive for a company that I’m governed at 70 mph and can go 72 mph if I’m using the cruise control. It’s like night and day. I feel much safer overall with the luxury of the added speed limit just to stay clear of big bunches of trucks and other traffic. I can actually pass, I don’t have to sit behind other people wondering for a half an hour if I can get by them or not. It just makes the overall environment less stressful in my opinion.

on the flipside of things, I do see some bad crazy truckers out here.

 

According to your logic then 20 mph at @1650 ought to produce far better fuel mileage.

I know, kind of absurd, but there is more to the physics than this. Far more.
