well i talked to a recruiter the other day and its even on their site says minimum 6mos otr exp...but im planning on going with them...but i do have a question about their road test...how picky are they? Reason i ask i been pulling a 42' dump trailer and hopper bottom for the last ten months and to be honest never had much reasoning to have to alley dock so thats why im wondering how strict they are on the road test

I took the road test in ontario and never had to back at all, just drove for about 3 miles and that was it.

Same here. Just don't be reckless.

I had to stop and reverse a few feet to make a turn (silly pete didn't turn like I thought it would). I looked in my mirrors and did all that stuff, no blood no foul.

And here I am a year and a half later.

Meh, it's flexible. I'm out for 11.5 and in for 2.5 (unload friday, reload monday morning). The 2w2d rule isn't carved in stone.

Still really isn't much time to do much. Out 3-4 weeks, home 4-5 days.(more if i wasn't banking days off for a longer Xmas vacation) Gives me at least one full day of beer drinking, remote controlling channel surfing.lol Then maybe work on the honey do list.

    rachi Thanks this.

I'm a regional driver for marten, western 11. I live in the L.A. area and I get to go home a lot more than most other people that work for this company. If I have to deliver Monday morning in the L.A. area, I make sure to get in the area sunday morning so I can watch football and go home. (park at K-mart). Then I deliver monday morning and move on. I have a personal relationship with my dispatcher and he ensures me to never miss an NFL sunday.

Plus, I dont sniff the northwest during winter. Sacramento to Phoenix all day baby, OR stockton to Los Lunas New Mexico. Anyways, I'm happy with Marten; I get to to have half days off all the time and never have to restart because me and my dispatcher have it like that. Obviously I'm not married, I'm only 24! :biggrin_25525:
