What's the most normal day like from arriving at the yard to getting off work? Do there drivers stay in the county or travel to different counties during the day? Are they switching to lift gates or continue using ramp and dolly? I'm thinking about adding Sysco to the list of companies that I'm going to apply at when I get my CDL...

Most Sysco stuff is daily, local runs. Hospitals, nursing homes, and all hand loaded, packed full, top to bottom with little packages, brooms, mops, you name it, Sysco carries it. Maybe a step up from beverage delivery, but pays better, and Sysco will be around for a long time. I have heard of Sysco drivers pulling doubles, empty one trailer, spend a overnight and the next trailer. Sysco a good job, but not for a beginner.

Considering that there's corporate consolidation in the foodservice and beverage distribution sectors of trucking (ie sysco's pending mergers/acquisitions with us foods and reinhart/performance foodservice; coca cola distributors like cce and reyes corp buying and selling off assets) and of course the pandemic/shutdowns and the rampant swings in sales volumes associated with that... answering these questions now is pointless.. come back in 5 years and ask.
