I bought tint from wally and did it while being unloaded. Two layers so it was dark enough to make me happy.

Batman13, Badmon and truckdriver31 Thank this.

Buy a razor blade scraper when you get your tint. It will come in handy to scrape the tint off while the DOT writes out your ticket.

...not sure that its very practical ...i have lightest tint on my personal car and its kinda hard to back up without proper lighting , imaging yourself backing up at the truck stop in the eve ...dot been mentioned already ( all it takes is one good cop )
I always wondered how dot is closing their eyes on tinted trucks
Whats the point of tinting the truck anyway ?!

Iowa, Missouri, Kansas specifically look for tinted windows on commercial vehicles, FMCSR says it has to let 70 % of light pass thru. Not many other states will bother you. Also drivers pulling up curtains. Iowa has a fine for that 750.00 for obstruction of view.

    Man, seriously people?

    1. If you can't see out of your tint it's too dark. I have 20% and old, bad eyes and can see fine. When I can't see, see #2.....
    2. Try ROLLING DOWN YOUR WINDOWS!!!! If you are backing your truck up, especially at night, you ought to roll them down anyway so you can hear somebody scream STOP! Seems like common sense to me. Maybe it ain't all that common.
    3. I go all over the U.S. and have only been bothered by KY. Not ticketed, not asked to remove it. Just warned. I got a doctor's note, seriously, for next time I get pulled over. The trooper told me to do this, seriously.
    4. Why would you tint a truck? Well, it has huge windows and it's bright and hot. If you need more explanation than that then I don't know what to tell you.

@Batman13, where are you located? Do they have the internet there?
