@motocross25 been wide open over here, fighting an alignment issue with this anthem that is making the days feel even longer. I’m sitting outside of Montgomery tonight headed for Daytona tomorrow. As far as cotton seed @WalterSobchak ive never hauled it, the company I work for also has a live bottom division, all the cotton seed hauling gets done by them.

    WalterSobchak and motocross25 Thank this.

@motocross25 just tooling around KC atm. Just dumped a load of sand and then did a glass load. Got silica sand on atm heading to KS to drop, then my truck is going in to the shop tomorrow to pull my roof cap off. Getting tired of the whole 13'6" nonsense and am looking forward to being 12'5" so i fit under belts and can stop declineing loads like hutchenson. Also had to replace my steer tires. Somehow managed to lodge a thumb sized chunk of rock in one that splayed open a palm sized chunk of wire, so that cost me most of a day.

Also @WalterSobchak i have a 72"X40' trailer and i can only get about 44k tops and thats if i literally pull my bows and have the loader cram the seed down until i can only JUST fit them back and close my tarp.

    WalterSobchak and motocross25 Thank this.

@WalterSobchak I’ve never personally loaded cotton seed but a coworker of mine did last week in California. It was as stated I think he put some on, went out of the chute, brake checked it down, loaded more, climbed up and shoved some down toward the walls then topped off and I think he said he left around 79k. His truck tares at 35,500.

@Arctic_fox sorry about your steer luck. I been doing local work this week. Today we got called off a job hauling screenings to a job site cuz of rain, he switched us to haul out of Eudora to Shawnee and then that cancelled cuz of rain so he said screw it and we went and preloaded haydite in New Market for Jefferson City tomorrow. Then I’m sure we’ll just bring clay back from Fulton to Sugar Creek.

@Trashtrucker1707 idk how into podcasts you are but check out The Whiskey Throttle Show if you haven’t already. Grant Langston and David Pingree host and it’s really good. Long conversations but they’re really interesting. The Carey Hart one is really good. There’s a ton of episodes. I like hearing about the mid to late 90’s racers because that’s when I first got into the sport. Ryan Hughes was a good interview and Mike Metzger was great too. Those guys have destroyed their bodies.

Right? that rain was fun lemme tell ya, it decided to dump on me just as i crawled into my bed to sweep it out. Fun times. Ah well least its work. As for the haydite those arent bad loads, nice and short if you can book a few out. I wish you luck with that clay though. Good pay but a massive pain when wet.

And don't worry about the steers. Im mostly gripeing because i find it halarious that everyone told me the MX engine would be trash and its actully the most reliable thing on my new truck XD. Plus i plan to make a log of everything that goes wrong this year and use it as a cautionary tale for all the new O/Os trying to start on a shoestring.

Your company has runs all the way to cali? That's cool as heck. Man i miss dump trucking. There just isn't anything I've ever done that can compare at all to it.

@Professor No-Name heres a pic to bring back some memories, loading some fertilizer to head to south Florida in the AM, you’re right, once you’ve done dumps you sure as heck don’t want to do much else. 6BA4FA4E-85B5-4AD0-AD4A-4FCE25083C27.jpeg

Man fertilizer was the name of the game today I guess. We unloaded and then bounced to St. Louis to get fertilizer comin back to KC. It’ll unload tomorrow then we are loading dry sand for Arrowhead Stadium. So that should be interesting.

Yea @Professor No-Name we go all over. I’m in a regional little bunk flat top truck but the stand up sleeper guys go all over. I think they took tie plates to LA, reloaded that cotton seed for New Mexico and then brought fertilizer up to Wichita. I think a few of them now are in Wyoming bringing tie plates to the railroad. I’m not sure where exactly but I know they’re reloading in Scotts Bluff NE back to KC.

Not a bad end of the week. Unloaded fertilizer in Mayview MO Friday and then reloaded pea gravel for Quikrete in KCK. Went back and got dried sand for Arrowhead Stadium. How’s everyone else do?
