Not sure you can get The OEM warranty that high of mileage.

    OEM warranty = good.

NTP or aftermarket warranty = not good.

Ohh I found you Dave! I have been hearing good things about you. Thank you. To be honest, I am really new. I just want to start with buying a good truck and O/O for Amazon and Convoy and cover my bills and make little better than why I make now weekly. That’s my goal now.
That’s why I was looking for few years old and good truck. I have budget around $45-50k tops.

That is totally wrong, there are a lot of factors involved in giving up and it is based on the individual owner, and many stay in it too long because they are trying to get some success out of it, it seems to be one reason why we see crap rates on load board.

The op has focused on one of the worst revenue generating segments of the industry, obesssed with it. He isn't listening to the advice about trucks and won't get far.

Amazing pays crap. They are not tolerate to a lot of things and itnis geared more to the 4 to 15 truck fleet where economic scale works for both parties.

Save your bombshell for someone else. I didn't say I couldn't make it, I was 5 years in, it's just, the country was hardly "booming", and having done both, a company job was just a better deal. I did okay, I made money with my old Western Star, but the hassle was not worth it to me. The old Pete in my avatar was just a 6 month fling, and I had people jumping over each other to buy it. I parked the company truck in the yard, let the night mechanics fix it, I went home to my family, and it was ready to go the next day. Some folks make it in trucking, especially the ones hauling plexiglass today, but by and large, O/O's today are a dying breed, they were 20 years ago when I got out, and I'm glad you like your Freightliner, they're okay, but having a Freightliner for 28 years, do you even know what a Pete or KW is like. What's your 28 year old Freightliner worth? I could still sell a 30 year old Pete to someone today. And another thing, you say it's a 4 axle unit? You aren't hauling what I hauled, for sure.

Easy come Easy Go. He will Succeed if He works at it. Might not get rich, or Own a Fleet like you do. But He can make it. Anyone can. Not just Trucking, most Businesses fail, mainly because people don’t realize how much worked is involved. They expect it to be easy, and find out it isn’t. Blame everything but themselves. To say He can’t do it, only I can. Is really funny. Honestly, how many said you can’t do it? You need this or that? Have to have your Own Authority, your Own Customers? Need at least a million in the Bank, to cover that many Trucks? I bet you’ve heard a lot of negative comments.

This statement here, is why I jumped at you. It's just a weird thing to say. It's so untrue, I don't even know where to begin my argument. Either way, tons of o/op's like myself that got into trucking with no contacts & a dream. We made it work..

Maybe I read this the wrong way, but "deemed unprofitable" reads to me, not making a profit. Time to shut it down before I lose everything.. My memory isn't the greatest, but I remember the economy on an upswing till abouts the 9/11 disaster. I'd of thought jumping in the o/op pool around 1995 would have been a great time to get going..

Naysayers. This same old tired line has been said for decades. If we all took this advice, you'd be right. Since this is still America, (hanging on by a tread) anyone with a desire to be their own man can choose to fulfill their destiny.. Opportunity we all have. What we make of it is a different story..

Again, another weird statement hard to argue. Projecting,? I believe it's called.? Is this the root of why you gave up on running your own show. Moving cheap freight just to be moving something..

I'm confused.. This contradicts your previous statement, "deemed unprofitable".. That sounds exactly like not making it. Maybe you were running one of them non-profit organizations for a tax shelter.? I don't know..

I've only owned my Shaker since Dec. '17, so about 2.75yrs of freightliner ownership. Was only stating her age. 1993 model, 09/92 build date.. It was worth $8,000 to me, so long as I can dupe some other sucker for around that much, I'll be ok with it.. Is a Paccar a more desirable rig? Depends on ones taste, but I won't argue their resale. People sure don't seem to mind opening up the wallet for one.. I was just getting at the fact so many folks seem to think they are the end all be all of trucks, & freightliner is a curse word or something. lol. Not the case. Spec for spec, a freightliner can earn the same revenue as a Pete, or KW. We just tend to be more humble, less billy bigrig type a folk. But a nicely done FLC appeals to me over the 379's that are a dime a dozen..

I meant 4 axles total for the outfit. 2 axle truck pulling a 2 axle step-deck spread at the moment.. I was trying to say I'm at more of a disadvantage than the average joe with a 5 axle rig. Was only trying to make the point, if one works at it they can find a way to succeed..

You're big hurdle will be insurance. And varies wildly depending on where you live.

    It's all calculated risk.

I'm out of touch with road trucks, but Freightliner daycabs are awesome. The Pete daycabs I've had were okay, but also lease tractors. That can be an issue. Kenworth daycabs are...good at driving forward, but have seriously the most jerky automatic reverse I've ever experienced in any truck.

But as far as road trucks, I'd defer to your experience. lol
