What is the proper way to adjust the clutch on a 95 4700 T444E with a 6plus spicer transmission? It had almost no free play, clutch was releasing at the end of the stroke. I adjusted the linkage to around 2" of free pedal and now the clutch releases at the proper height. Am I supposed to be adjusting something on the pressure plate instead of the linkage?

Never adjust the external linkage. You need to adjust that back to how it was in the first place. To adjust a clutch for wear, you need to adjust it internally.
I found a video on You tube that sums it up. Keep in mind, in the video, he said you want about 3 inches of pedal free play, this is wrong, you want about 1/2 of that. When the internal adjustment is correct, you have about a 3/4" gap between the release bearing and the front of the transmission.

I don't believe there is a clutch brake on a Spicer 6 plus 1 transmission. If there is an adjustment on pressure plate you can adjust it there. The rod that connects to clutch lever in the clutch housing should have a long threaded portion at the top for adjusting the clutch free play.

There isnt a clutch brake that I'm aware of. The linkage does have a long threaded portion at the upper connection to the pedal. That's where I adjusted it at.

I'm sure I did, I barred the engine over and I can't see anyway to adjust it at the clutch. Guess I will leave it with free pedal.
