What do freight agents do when they want to retire or grow without hiring? I'm one of the good guy brokers. I recently hired an agent, paid him 110% of what he was making, took over all the backend and brokering for his clients, and now he is back to selling full time while our operations team covers his loads and handles all the customer service.

Put simply, he is getting paid a salary that is more than he was making compared to his agency split, plus commision for any sales growth. It'd work similarly for an agent without a succession plan who wants to retire - transition clients to a like-minded operations team who can take care of them and then sit back and collect commissions without the work, lack of vacation, and 24/7/365 on call reality. It isn't for everyone of course, but I'm going to look for more agents who might be interested. Wondering what agents out there are doing in these scenarios. Thank you, Chad.
