Sorry, van freight never paid enough to haul something hazardous. Toilet paper , which doesn't become hazardous until used, is one thing. Nitro Glycerin or spent nuclear fuel rods better pay better than that.

Some hazmat becomes active over a certain temp and will catch fire so in the reefer it goes.

Back in the early 80's we hauled a lot of temp controlled hazmat with Pirkle

Canadian LTL carrier parks here, their trailers are either refers or heated and I often see a pre-loaded flammable load placards with the refer running in the mornings waiting for a driver to take it to Canada.
There is a lot of HM in food grade. Ethyl Alcohol. Soda contains Phosphoric acid, etc.Ke6gwf Thanks this. -
