I’m considering going to prime from swift
for a few reasons. One of the reasons is that I’d like to drive a peterbilt or kenworth instead of a freightliner as that is predominantly what Swift has. I see quite a few kenworths and peterbilt on the side. Also it says on primes website that new drivers go through 2 months of training before being handed keys to their own truck. Do drivers with 6 months plus experience still have to do as much training before going out on your own. Also I’m interested in going into the tanker division,
which brings up another point how long does the tanker training last?.Another thing I’d like to know is can drivers park personal vehicles at terminals as some companies don’t want you to do this. And speaking of the tanker division, is tanker work available at the pittston,pa terminal as that is closest to me and where I prefer to work from. Hopefully they’ll give a former swift driver a shot considering I have not had any accidents.One last thing can you take more than 3 days at a time for home time as this is all swift wants you to take. I don’t mind spending a month on the road but if I do 5
weeks on the road I should get 5 days at home.
