I’m considering going to prime from swift
for a few reasons. One of the reasons is that I’d like to drive a peterbilt or kenworth instead of a freightliner as that is predominantly what Swift has. I see quite a few kenworths and peterbilt on the side. Also it says on primes website that new drivers go through 2 months of training before being handed keys to their own truck. Do drivers with 6 months plus experience still have to do as much training before going out on your own. Also I’m interested in going into the tanker division,
which brings up another point how long does the tanker training last?.Another thing I’d like to know is can drivers park personal vehicles at terminals as some companies don’t want you to do this. And speaking of the tanker division, is tanker work available at the pittston,pa terminal as that is closest to me and where I prefer to work from. Hopefully they’ll give a former swift driver a shot considering I have not had any accidents. One last thing can you take more than 3 days at a time for home time as this is all swift wants you to take. I don’t mind spending a month on the road but if I do 5
weeks on the road I should get 5 days at home.

W.W. Transport is hiring in your area. I think they use Pete's and KW's. Good reputation and will probably hire you, since they hire new cdl grads. Some of those drivers hauling flour are making average $1500 weekly. Couple weeks ago saw another ad from the company for a reefer position, home daily, $1500 weekly.
    Here's the ad I saw:

I’ll look into them as things have continued to go south at swift.

Try to finish a full year before you jump ship. Trucking ain’t for sissies and working for Swift is even harder. I did my time there. 1.5 years. Was as good as I made it, but I had a very good driver manager. If you are not happy, take control, ask to go to reefer or dedicated account. Ask for a new DM if that’s your issue. Some people don’t take responsibility. I did. I fired my first mentor (trainer) because he wasn’t teaching me crap, fiended like a meth addict when we got a pre plan or a load and wouldn’t let me shower every few days. The dude would wear the same clothes for 7 days straight. Was a nightmare. I took responsibility for my training and my CDL. Got off his truck in Memphis and he was pissed. I didn’t care. They put me in a hotel, 2 days later I was in another trainers truck. He taught me what I needed to succeed. He and I are still good friends 5 yrs later. I now own my own truck and no I’m not a lease op with Swift. Good luck and stay focused. Have a safe trip driver.

PS. That WW Transport gig looks like a good one. That’s a gig definitely worth looking into.
