I, recently, bought a Swift turn in from a dealer who claimed not to know anything about the ICON system. I've had the truck a little over three months. Dealing with the fact that about once an hour, I have to get up, and keep the truck running long enough to build heat in the cab. About a month ago, they finally sent me some basic instructions on how to use the system, but to no avail, it didn't work. Now, about 110 days after purchase, it is at the dealership. Before, they couldn't fit it in their schedule in a time when I was home. Now, they are saying they need to "re-wire the ignition system to bypass the ICON." As of this afternoon, they have about 6 hours labor (# $93 per hour) invested, just to figure out a remedy. Do I have any recourse in this matter, or do I just have to take it in the shorts (not an option, by the way. They'll get it back, first. As I don't have much invested in it.)? I figure if I'm gonna pay extra money for a "warrantee" that isn't going to cover the things that go wrong, I'm gonna save the money I dump on this POS, and buy something outright. At least then I won't have to worry about a payment when it's down.

I already tried this about two months ago. I just got off the phone with the dealer. They said they were experiencing a communication gap. The guy who actually worked on my truck was under the impression I wanted to be rid of the ICON system. All I really wanted was to be able to have heat. This was about a 2.5 hour fix. So that is all they charged me. I'm happy, now. They, also said they'd give me the low down on how to operate the thing. I thought I was going to get raped, but they really went out of their way to help me out with this. They actually replaced/repaired some things that I wasn't even aware of, free of charge. This may have somethiing to do with the notion that I intend to buy more trucks in the future. I'm sure they'd like to be the ones I buy from. Anyway, to the moderators: If you deem this post moot, or feel it's better suited elsewhere, I won't harbor ill feelings if you act accordingly. But, I will post detailed info on the use of this system later, today. So, other members with this issue will, at least, have a good guideline. Love this forum, by the way. It has proven to be a very useful tool. Thanks for being here.
