Do Hot Shots Get Hassled More By The DOT?

    Ran across a guy running illegal. His trailer may have had four or five planks for flooring hauling double what it should have. He told me if he got stopped and put OOS he'd just drop trailer and they could keep it. Judging by looks it would have cost money to get rid of it.

    I ran good clean equipment with both a hot shot rig and a tractor with 48'SD, got inspected roadside and in scales on a regular basis, especially in my home state of Texas. Had a Texas State Trooper that was doing a roadside inspection on me in my hotshot rig tell me that he had to have 32 inspections a month and hotshots were the easiest for them to do. Nature of the beast, but it is frustrating at times.

    We run hotshot the full length of the east coast and as far west as Denver , and only get about 4 inspections a year, once this past year did we get pulled in at a scale for an inspection , there usually road side inspections .

    Just keep nice looking equipment that's not to shiny ...
