Do intrastate carrier need to file IFTA

    Correct. Under 26,000 you can traverse the entire country on that. X tag. You only an A tag if over 26,000

    I have my apportion plates and all my numbers federal usdot txdot 2290 mc and ucr! Can I cross state lines without my ifta? If so what is required?

    No. As soon as your IRP got processed, they green light you with the info you need to file for IFTA. You can't cross state lines without that paperwork and decal. And if it's your first year decal, you can't get temporary permits either. I just went through it in Texas. IFTA alone took like 41 days to process.

    I run only Cali and only display my MC(Ca.) number. Been inspected several times and never have been asked about my US dot number, even though I was issue one years back.
