I hate running on recap. I enjoyed the miles that put me in that position but its a pain the butt running when you don't have a full day.

OK FRE drivers take a deep breathe and count to 10. Those like Doliver count to 100.
In my years of trucking this is the busiest time of year so no freight is not a valid excuse. There are other issues and I can't pinpoint each one. I have my ideas but they are mine and doesn't mean they are all correct.
I don't know how long it takes for things to improve but I have held on over a year believing it would. I'm still waiting! My believer is bent but not broke. I'm trying to stay positive.
Either you hang in there and see how it goes or you don't.
What some drivers consider good miles and money is not what many others agree with. Some require less because they have fewer obligations. I personally think that the pay should match the sacrifices drivers make for their company. Away from home and family, the expense of being out here on the road and last but not least the dangers on the road and responsibilities put on drivers are all huge sacrifices.
I'm not going to advice anyone on what they should do. The choice is something you with different needs have to decide.

some of us have raised our families and don't have the financial stress that those who have kids at home and the expense that goes with it.when it is up and down like it is it takes a toll on the family.so I don't blame them for being unhappy, they have a good reason to be.drivers who have families at home should be getting good miles to make sure the kids have what they need.i just hope it picks up for everyone real soon.being broke is no fun for anyone

Well its a year later, And all those Management changes, and this thread still sounds the same...My take on it is FRO is a company for older retired folks like me, Gopher, and HolyCow.. that can live on lower incomes if you have a family at home it's ruff making it there because of the fluctation in miles every week. I know I started out with really low miles, but as I went along it seemed Robin was tring to kill me with runs, I didn't have time to eat sometimes. lol at times I would have Preplans for 4 to 5 trips on my QC! then I would sit for a day or 2 but always paid me layover....
