right here on TTR and then on one other site. Which one is misinformation? I actually forget and google even brings up both numbers with no clear answer. Nothing like wasting time at a real testing center with bad information!

I cant give you a positive answer but I've always known it to be 3 psi... period, whether straight truck or TT.

AFAIK, if DOT has you to do a air brake air leak test, it cant loose more than 3 psi... no matter the vehicle. Again, I cant give you a guarantee on that but that's what I always understood.

Yep, agree 3 lb per minute for combination vehicle.
Less than 2 for single vehicle.

I had to look it up. From what I read in the BC manual it looks like 3 PSI per minute with a full brake application for a straight truck. 6 PSI per minute with a full application for a truck and 2 trailers.

Couldn't find anything pertaining to a single trailer unit or anything for just a truck sitting with the park brakes on and no service brake application.

    Rideandrepair and Mattflat362 Thank this.

I looked it up, some stayed say 2 psi for straight truck, some say 3.
Stop at scale and ask DoT officer in your state,

Must be subjective based on one's State/Province.

That’s from Rhode Island, but it’s Federal Rule.

I guess whichever cdl book the state gives has that answer, that way they know you read the book, 1 psi per minute one way or other won’t make a difference with the engine off

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

In the CDL manuals for Idaho it states 4 psi... Or at least it did about 8 years ago.

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.
