Needing some help anyone. I am repinning the OEM harness was a 70 pin to a 40 pin. Cat 3406E I have taken wiring diagrams from both the 70 p & 40 pin, removing for example pin 70 from the 70pin putting into cavity 6 of a 40 pin connector, pin 52 & 53 (spliced together) into #4 unswitched power, #65 &67 into #5 ground, etc but I have ran into a problem. When I double check for power, grounds, etc on my 40 pin connector that I switch over #4 unswd +, #6 KS + ,#5 ground is correct but then I have 12v at pins #22,27 (should be check eng & warning light) & have 5v at pins #7,9,10,11,16,17 with Key switched on. According to my diagrams

    70 pin. 40 pin
    #8. ata DL j1587+ #7
    #1. J1922 + #9
    #37 speedometer- #10
    #39 Tach - #11
    #36. Speedometer + #16
    #38. Tach + #17

    #28 check engine #22
    #29. Warning lamp/stop #27
Could the truck be wired up differently than what is on the diagram for the 70, also according to the diagram; pins/wires #34,42,50 all for the j1939 are not in the 70 pin connector on the truck . Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hey were you able to get this figured out. My 40 pin is also showing 12v on the 22 and 27 pins. Thanks
