International S1900

    Hello all. I recently purchased a 1988 International S1900, 33k gvwr. The axle tag is missing and I can't seem to find any information about the axle. Its a spicer two speed. Working the math from rpm and speed I come up with something around 5.38:1 in high range. I'd like to change this out for a single speed either 4.30:1 or 4.10:1 for a little more top speed. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to exactly what differential I should be looking for? Thanks!

    You can change that if you want, but the two speed is there so that you have a lower gear to pull out loaded and so that you can split your gears so that you can climb Hills.

    You certainly can change it but just something to keep in mind.

    I have driven trucks that had two speed rears and then driven the same model of the truck that had a regular rear and it really was like night and day.

    If I was going to make a change like that I would look into putting in a small roadranger 10 speed or something like that.
