Why not do both? My truck driving lifestyle could fuel my writing. Novels for Truckers, by a trucker. Not a bad idea at all man
    My first saga could be

Game of Loads: A Song of #### and Rubber I appreciate the compliment though man, seriously. I’ve always been an avid reader and like to write stuff sometimes.

You could always go local and have fun with the dvir. I love doing that, I have to do two a day. One for the truck and one for the electric pallet jack. I really like writing dumb #### on the pallet jack one because the inside maintenance guy is funny as hell and leaves equally as stupid fixes for everything lol.

I don’t drive for FedEx, I run dedicated hazmat and general freight for Estes for a company that they subcontract out. I’m getting 1,000 a week avg. 5 days out, 2 days home, with every 3rd week being 3 days out, 2 days home. No problem with miles and my job seems secure at the moment.

Edit: Still this may be concerning...

I came to this thread to see if I could get info on why a female driver team was thrown out of their truck tonight when they went to the yard to swap a trailer. Apparently, equipment is being impounded, if I were a driver for this company, I'd get myself checked into a motel, empty the truck and not go near the company yard until I had all my ducks in a row.

Thank you to whomever posted the news story. I couldn't find anything when I looked.

####... where did you hear about that? This was in Salt Lake or at one of the FedEx terminals?

@snowwy Meant to say thanks for posting the story as well, the heads up is appreciated.

A driver in a women's trucking group that I belong to posted about coming into a company yard (SLCTG) in SLC to drop empty. She was getting ready to get off the truck to fly home.

They were accosted by cops or feds, told to vacate the truck immediately and ended up stranded in SLC at night with all their gear and no way to move it and no place to stay. I've been unable to communicate with her since that post, so I don't know how things turned out.

I took the link that I found here and created a post explaining what was happening and shared it with several trucking groups I belong to in hopes of warning anyone that might be affected by this to not blindly drive into company property and find themselves stuck.

The people I described above were company drivers. I have no idea how a lease op would be affected by something like this, but you can bet I wouldn't go anywhere near a company property until I had made other plans for where my stuff was going and where I was going to stay, to say nothing of transport and another job.
