Some larger companies will have class b equipment. But you won't get hired with a class b. They want class a

Ummmm, just to be clear frac fueling is a legit opportunity to get your foot in the door in the oilfield, and it is really good money, especially for class b drivers.

If you can deal with the cold I'd get up there because come fall, a lot of frac fueling outfits are going to be looking for a lot of drivers as the fracking ramps up.

Oh alright. Well I appreciate that. Yes it does sound like good money. Didn't know there was a demand. That's great!

There are more jobs than frac fueling with a class b. Hot oilers come to mind. I have even seen class b crude tankers in OK. It may be that you'll have to have a class a to get hired and a class a would definitely make you more hireable, but there are class b jobs out there.

Sunoco had a couple of b tankers in Drumright. I was told they could carry 160 bbls and I was told that they got paid for 160 bbls no matter how much they actually picked up. We were only hauling 180bbls in the t/t's. In fact, a lot of the older wells had smaller storage tanks and we wound up hauling 160-170 quite often in the t/t's. I have no idea what they would ask for requirements to drive one of the B's though.

The jobs are out there... it's just tough to know which ones would hire you. If they need drivers bad enough they will hire you with a class b if they have a class b truck....even if their website doesn't say so. They will fill a seat with legal driver any way they can before they let a customer down. In the areas where drivers needed really bad, those situations will occur.

Hey lifespan I have had my physical and drug screen. Been given a start date of 2 Sep verbal but nothing in writing yet. I gotta have that before a 3 day and 33 hrs trip to the tundra. When I applied it said A class but the manager said dont worry. He needs B frac drivers so fill it out. Hope to get my hire letter tomorrow.

I suspect that military vets get a pretty quick pass on the requirements. They love vets in the patch. I suspect that they figure the odds of you being able to handle the hours, the weather conditions and the physical labor are good. They can train you from there... including sending you to school to get your class a if they need to.
