Side note. I have an interview and road test scheduled this week with another carrier. So if all goes well, I'll be handing in my 2 week notice. I have a list of 3 companies I'll work for based on a certain criteria. I'm sure I'll land one of them. One is in Starke FL, one is in Oklahoma City and one is in Wisconsin.

yes been almost 6 months now and things have got no better here on southeast side of things. to many problems with getting runs,,, and the weekend crew still dont know what the #### is going on,, there solution to a problem is just call back in the morning. had told them myself that at 6 mo here have only made 1/4 the money that i made with link. so i will be out of here soon just looking for the right tanker company to go to,,, tired of chasing the mile,,, looking for something by the load instead ,, it pays more,, one of my friends already left and went tanker and now makes about 3500 to 5000 a week in pocket,, ,, so just saying my days here are short

Sometimes all you can do is vote with your feet and move on. I've lined up multiple offers to pick from, all paying .05 per mi more than Arnold.
It baffles me that when the problems are well-known (operations staff, shop), yet nothing changes. That reflects directly upon management.

i have been with arnold for 5 years. The link equipment is in very poor condition. Arnold is doing the right thing by parking the link tractors and trailers. They bought link during the slowest time of the year with freight. Recently you can tell it is getting better. My miles are going up and I am having fewer maintenance issues now that the link trailers are getting parked. I am willing to work and getting the bump the dock pay makes Arnolds pay very competitive. I also like the arnold tractors. the oldest unit is a 2009 with most of the units i see are 2011 and newer. I am in a 2012 peterbilt. My fleet manager told me they are ordering 200 new 2014 units. i also saw where you were concerned with the shops. they were very busy with the link tractor and trailer sales. plus they were training new shop techs on taking on the link work. my recent visit to an arnold shop was very good.

Whatever it may be, there's a very huge planning and dispatch problem here.

    Btw, Arnold didn't buy link

Sorry, warrior. Not buying it. I see a one-post Arnold apologist, and I challenge you to prove that you are an Arnold driver.

As I've said, the miles add up at the end of the week. My largest areas of concern have been the under utilization of available hours. There needs to be a more strict policy for drivers that are dropping damaged equipment for others. It's not just the suffering driver who gets aggravated, it's the customers who are paying the company to haul freight and expect on time service. Well, when your doing a pretrip on a loaded trailer from a very important customer and notice a blown airbag, blown tires, trailer lights not working, hub grease spewing everywhere, etc... The drivers actions jeopardize the accounts OTD% and ultimately effects the relationship with that customer when your company isn't able to get it done. There's quite a few customers that have hot freight and have very tight delivery times..now throw in a maintenance issue that the last driver could have prevented, its a recipe for disaster. I brought that issue to ops over at Link, and for a while there was a system in place to track down negligent drivers. I gave my DM at Link a full pretrip tutorial so she was versed in general maintenance issues rather than be clueless. I have no issues doing the same thing here. Arnold has the tools to be a great company really quick if issues can get resolved.

Mileage past 8 days, running in recap hours now.[IMG]

I've never dealt with JAX...they would quickly transfer me back to GP upon getting my truck number. And most in GP have this difficulty in communication...the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing most of the time. My DM was great, but often limited by the others in the bunch. A chain is only as strong as the weakest link-- doesn't matter how strong the strongest one it.

Now JAX CSRs...Never heard from them before 2100, but often after 0000.

As a former Link driver, I can agree that some of their older trailers are junk. The Washita and the old Interstate trailers are the worst ones. I've had more problems with the tandems in the Arnold trailers, probably do to more exposure to road salt up north. Some of the older Link trucks are pretty crappy, but they did buy some new ones last year before the merger.

Bump the dock pay? I've earned it, but never got it. Seems I was "in the wrong fleet" for that.

My '09 Pete was a nice truck...liked everything but that dang automatic transmission. Doesn't shift consistently, sometimes you have to do it manually, sometimes you have to "reset" it. It's in the shop for those corrections now, but by the time it comes back out, it would be pointless to get back in it before my resignation date is here.
