I could not get the pins in my 5th wheel in by pressing the "air slide" button on my truck, so i beat them in with a hammer. Now i cannot get the pins on my 5th wheel to pop back out.
What force makes the pins on the 5th wheel to pop out? Is it air or what?
How can i get the pins on my 5th wheel to pop back out?
Now the pins on my 5th wheel are stick in

Air to retract, springs to push back out.
Personally I find it easier to pull away from the trailer, operate the slide pin release, then move the fifth exactly where I want it using a pry bar.Stray_Dog, expedite_it and okiedokie Thank this. -
Put some diesel on those pins.

Spray with WD-40 deep into the pin area. Work the toggle switch back and forth. Check both sides, see if either is going in and out. Sometimes might catch on the lip and you can put a screwdriver in the hole and move the pin up and it will pop out. Coated with lube and working switch should get em out. Might have to slide a little forward or back if not lined up, but if one side is popping out u should be lived up.

fluid film works the best you got to get everything free up. If you want it to work you got to take care of it. Every moving part must be lubed.

Oh by the way you use brass to tap on pins, either a brass mallet or a brass drift, but never steel on steel you will (or did) mushroom the pin.

I never had to slide the 5th wheel when I was with a trainer. About my 2nd week solo, picked up a load that had me at 79400 gross. Had to slide my 5th wheel. I got on YouTube and watched a couple of videos! That's how I learned. And, even though it took my 5 reweighs, I did get myself legal with that load!
God prefers Diesels Thanks this.
