Does Central have a pet policy? If so, what are the requirements?

From what I know, CRS does allow a pet in a company truck. However, there is a $500 non-refundable deposit. Not sure if this applies to leased vehicles.

    huckstah Thanks this.

Yes, that also applies to leased trucks... It's for one cat or dog not more than 50 pounds.

    huckstah Thanks this.

I should have asked that question to my recruiter today but completely forgot because it was just one of many questions. I don't plan on leasing by the way. So you guys both confirm that pets are allowed for company drivers? This is make-or-break deal for me since I plan on having my dog with me once I go solo. Thanks for your help guys

Hey Huckstah, I also have been looking into Central as a company to go with for my training. This is one of my stipulations as well and speaking to a few different recruiters the answer is this.

Once you go solo, it is a $500 dollar deposit and the one pet must be 50lbs or under. It is a big one for me too as once I go solo I will be bringing my wife and dog with me OTR so we can save up cash to get our own place eventually.

Thanks! My dog is about 40-50 lbs, so hopefully they will allow him. Btw, Prime also has a pet policy and will train you for free, but I chose Central because they get you in your own truck way faster. Some students over at Prime had to go on the road for a trainer for almost 6 months, and my poor dog can't wait that long. Central can put me on the road solo in 4-8 weeks, I heard.

Congrats on your choice. I will be attending orientation with CRS beginning March 18th.

Same here! I'm going to Atlanta on the 18th. The recruiter said I will spend one week there, and then they will ship us to Salt Lake City, Utah. Same plan for you?

Oh nevermind I see you are in Sacramento, so I'm guessing you are going to Fontana or Salt Lake City in your first week

I am attending truck school in Sacramento for a few weeks and then I will head to Fontana for orientation. Then I will hopefully start my OTR training. Hope to go solo by the end of April, hen head home to get my dog.
