Question about Recruiting and Contracts.

I went to western express last year to work for them. I don't remember signing a contract, but that's not the problem. I didn't break the contract, they did. When I went to them I went under the impression I would be doing regional. The regional I agreed to was Southeast. AJ Combest the dude I wasn't recruited by said that would be no problem. I was really thinking about it too much, I just wanted to get out and work. Well while me and my trainer were up in philly getting a batter to use my CPAP. I got curious and asked what they had me down as when I'm done training. I started out a flatbed, but I really hated it. So I asked could I change, they said they didn't have anything regional as dry van. So I asked I'm going to have to do regional southeast flatbed. He explain that they don't have southeast regional. I asked what AJ Combest put me down as. And he told me all 48, which I definitely didn't agree to. I called AJ and he tried to explain that he didn't tell me that and I may have misheard him or he didn't explain it properly. I told him I would never come out with them as all 48 because I don't like it. He told me to hold on and he would call me back. He never did and wouldn't pick up the phone. I had to go above him to get some answers and they gave me the run around about it too. I asked them were they going to give me what I agreed to or send me home. They decided to send me home. When I get home I'm thinking it done and over with. But then they contacted me offering me dry van regional, but by then I had already gone back to my bus driving job. They send me a letter saying if I don't come back I owe them money. So I call and explain the situation to AJ's boss and she said she would call be back. She took a while to call me back, but she did. She told me I was in the clear and I wouldn't have to worry about the contract. Now a couple months later I get a letter from Lockhart, Morris & Montgomery, INC. Saying that I still owe them money. I'm curious to see If anyone else has had a similar situation?

 

I talk to the person over Aj Combest. I explained everything and she said she would call me back. She called me back and told me not to worry about it and that they would remove the debt. I'm guessing i should have asked for something in writing, as proof.

 

I don't have anything from them except the Welcome the Western Express Letter. And I think that was mainly paperwork on how to secure a load. I think I got rid of all the paper work and I talked to Aj boss over the phone.
